The Green Country Roller Girls
Become a Reality

From March to June the girls got together regularly at public skates
around Tulsa. Through meetings and votes, the business structure of the
leauge began to take form, and the first round of officer elections was held.

In July of 2006 our world was forever changed. Mercy Less, who was at the time
with the Charm City Rollergirls of Baltimore, came to visit her family in Oklahoma. She contacted our fledgeling leage, and offered to run a derby boot camp for a weekend. We hosted several new leagues from the area including Oklahoma City, Wichita, Ft. Smith & Fayetteville, AR. We learned falls, blocks, endurance drills, balance drills, and so much more. With her direction and our focus turned toward learning the sport of roller derby through the WFTDA, we were on our way-

By September we had organized our first team:

(Not pictured: Rosie the Wrecker & Whiskey Birmingham)

and had been invited to our first bout in Dallas, TX by the Dallas Derby Devils to compete in a single period, single elimination mini-tournament with the East Texas Bombers of Tyler, TX and the DDD's newest team, the Death Row Rumblers.

We suffered a mere 4 point loss in the first round against the East Texas Bombers, who went on to beat the Dallas Derby Devil's Death Row Rumblers.
